"Making" schools pay, I wonder if all Div 1 Athletic Department minor sport budgets will 'allow' for this extra expense. An extra 45-50k to a, for instance, Coppin State, might 'break' their softball/baseball 'bank'. Even more economic pressure on a private low ender like St Peters Softball, or Mt St Mary's, quite sure they restrict/limit softball scholarships to bare bones allotments. Could it be, these type programs will just go with grad assistants to fulfill the volunteer coach role, instead of coughing up the extra $$$? I can see that happening if they can get away with that.
