It's more than a game....
The clams were courtesy of Heather Terry Lusk who is a VT Softball Alumn. We met her last year during Alumni weekend at our tailgate. She and Anni's younger sister, Bekah immediately connected regarding Marine Science. So much in fact that Heather provided clams and oysters to her for her Independent Science Research project. She also hosted Bekah this week at their home on the Eastern Shore of VA. The family's hatchery has been in business since 1903. Bekah was treated to an inside look at their operations, boat ride with dozens of dolphins surrounding the boat, which according to Heather had never happened like that before. She also got a private tour the Virginia Institute of Marine Science Eastern shore lab.
This amazing connection was only possible thru the work that Coach Pete and his staff does. Year in and year out. Bringing people together thru the game of softball. We are grateful to them for opening doors for both our daughters.
Heather's daughter, Lela also plays softball and is a pretty good pitcher. You may see her in a few years.
Thanks to this folks in this group for your continued support. Let's go Hokies!!!
