That probably wouldn't have helped

If you've been following the news you would've seen that this year's flu vaccine has had a negative efficacy (-28%) meaning people that got the shot were contracting flu at a greater rate than those that were not vaccinated. About the only protection you can get is through good hygiene practices, but that's probably not a priority for most college kids.
