I'm a math nerd, but this is probably more about that they scored at all

Not as much that they scored first. If you score first that guarantees you scored at least 1 this game. Would be more interested in seeing a stat about who wins the game if opponent scores first but your team scores at least one run, would be much closer to even. To be even more esoteric, I'd be interested in the win rate if your opponent scores exactly one run first (as in no other runs that inning) and your team scores at least one run, I'd guess you'd see the team that scores 2nd with a winning record there. ** Edited by js93 at 12/6/2025, 12:10:26 PM

Cori was so deadly at leadoff, and this shows why.

Could be Lynch or Mizelle the next 3-4 years.**

If you leadoff with your best home run hitter, Michelle Chatfield is #1.**

I think if you are incorporating HR's into the mix you also want speed and

A slugger behind them prevents putting another possible score on 1st base.

Your pitcher has to be able to throw strikes from pitch #1. Mickey . .

Like soccer. That first goal is a killer. **

In soccer, the only goal can be a killer.**

Ergo, first goal. **

I'm wearing mittens ergo. . . . . no fingers! Can't count. :-)**

That tells part of the story, but not the whole thing:

In your math about the team that scores 2nd, wouldn't the team that scores
laphroaig 12/06/25 01:50 PM ET
There might not be a 3rd scorer. But if there is, yes
js93 12/07/25 12:22 AM ET
The team that scores the most wins 100%. Thus ends our lesson for today.

unless the home team can slow roll the last inning to make sure it was rain

In a similar vein, Big Innings also lead to wins
VTChip 12/05/25 05:35 PM ET
So combining those two stats, there's about 150% chance of winning if you
