I had major back surgery 5 weeks ago (like you, waited 3 months to get a slot). The anesthesiologist is the most important guy in the room . . . your life is literally in his/her hands. You want them to be VERY comfortable so you can be VERY confident when the nurse anesthetist says 'you're going to feel a little drowsy now'. Take the delay as insurance that they are looking out for you. I've seen too many 'surgery center' issues. Take all the time in the REAL hospital they'll give you.
