Softball America disagrees with you - their SOS is terrible

From the weekend preview: "The Ducks currently only have three quad-one wins...they can add up to three more in the series against UCLA this weekend (but they only got two). "Oregon still has Indiana on the schedule, which would add to Top-50 wins if the Hooisers stay in quad two but they could (also) move to quad three. The series against Michigan State (RPI of #183) won’t help. Oregon needs Washington to pop back into the Top-25 RPI to gain two more wins there. The Ducks would need to make a run against the better teams of the conference in the Big Ten Tournament. "Oregon’s move to the Big Ten is what is hurting the Ducks. The biggest difference is that UCLA played a very hard non-conference slate to counteract the Big Ten schedule, while Oregon’s wasn’t as difficult. The Ducks having an SOS and a non-conference SOS above 100 will really hurt them come Selection Sunday. Their SOS was 115 before the UCLA series. I still believe that if VT can win two next weekend, they will be in decent shape come selection Sunday.. ** Edited by VTChip at 4/20/2025, 10:37:46 PM

Ah Mr. Positive! Well good news is we have more games to play.**

Yeah the positive is that we still control things and that others also lost

I think your point about Oregon's geographic location...

I agree with your assessment of what we need to do to make it. And if UCLA

They will be above VT in RPI but their SOS will keep them from hosting

Your trust of the committee is much greater than mine. :-)**

Interesting Chip. The RPI already contains a strong SOS component as

History will say that the committee will consider SOS strongly

You could be right. The RPI Live has them at 16 and us at 15. But, it's

It’s a shame. This is likely a top 5 team with Grein **

I hope this isn't true. One player's attitude impacted the other 20+ . . .

Ok…so it’s still a shame we had her here and whatever the reason it didn’t
hokiepro 04/21/25 09:50 AM ET
The bottom line with Grein, she just wanted to be the ace and not ace B.
PokieHokie 04/21/25 11:58 AM ET
Great points. I agree. Grein wanted to be the ace. And that was part of

So true, many good pitchers have left our program to be the top dog!
