Obviously you're reaping the "rewards" of your post. You earned it.
Carleigh is very talented, and obviously a leader of the team. I believe she was instrumental in helping CMD retain some of the players who stayed after CKB left. She plays with emotion, which is good and bad. Last night and against ND she let her emotions get the best of her.
Both she and her teammates passing was sloppy last night, and I'm seeing that as a trend. This includes being passive on receiving the pass as well as lazy passes. If you watch them on offense, they become very predictable in their passing, almost nonchalant. Opponents can quickly detect this and anticipate passes.
Now, all that being said, Carleigh is still young (this is really her first season with any meaningful minutes. This can also be said of Carys Baker and many of the other players. I am confident they will improve and mature under CMD's tutelage. Carleigh tries to do too much, and puts herself in untenable situation. She's starting to remind me of Pedulla, who would at times play "hero ball." Carleigh and many of her ball handling teammates pick up their dribble too soon with no where to pass. Also, when this happens, teammates are slow to react and move and thus provide an outlet pass. Again, I'm sure this will improve. I personally think Carleigh would be better at the 2 vice at PG, although I'm not sure CMD has better alternatives at PG, right now.
Carleigh makes good moves, but is a poor finisher. She needs to work on that. When she's coming off the elbow and driving, she probably needs to turn her jump foot more towards the basket, which will help her finish. On jump shots, I've noticed she tends to "drift" to one side when shooting. When she takes time to "square up," she shoots much better.
Again, this is her first real year of meaningful minutes, so you've earned the recriminations you've gotten in this string. I'm confident CMD will help her mature and improve in the areas I've mentioned, and others.
