Would softball be more interesting with larger fields, e.g., 250 to center?

In some ways, I could see it. Maybe less HRs and more doubles and triples? May make athleticism even more important. I am not sure if it would be good overall. Also, how expensive would it be to expand all those college fields? As athletes get bigger and stronger through history, playing field size may become an issue over time. Should the NBA go to a 10.5- or 11-foot basket?

FWIW, more HRs hit per game in baseball than softball.**

Need to mandate bats that are not as hot. Much cheaper than expanding field

They're hitting a .47 COR, 375 compression ball.

Never happen. I loved the feel of hitting the sweet spot with wood.**

Or fences as high as UCLA’s. I am curious as to the story behind that.

UCLA Left and Right is 190 feet. So they compensated with higher walls.**

Here is the NCAA rule on field dimensions

Good info, thanks Chip. So I guess the rules are not hard and fast

They have netting above and there’s a major road not far behind those trees**

In general, I know the fence has to be higher when the distance is
