I guarantee you: If UNC is heading to the SEC and UVA doesn't have an offer from the Big Ten, UVA would definitely jump at the SEC offer. Now, if UVA receives offers from both the SEC and the Big Ten, then yeah, Spanberger might push UVA to choose the Big Ten. But the question is why the B10 would invite UVa without getting UNC? By the way I agree with you. The only way for VT to get into the P2, in my opinion, is to join the SEC as a tag-along to UNC (I've been saying this many times). But it's Flug, so I'll take this with a huge grain of salt. Flug always implied that the ACC was going to lose so many teams and explode. Now he's saying nothing is imminent and nothing is certain. Flug still "predicts" a big scoop (4 schools) for the SEC. I don't see the SEC adding more than two schools. We'll see.

too is because the NC govt decided last year (I think) that UNC and NC State MUST be joined at the hip if either school were ever to decide to leave the ACC for a P2 conference. If the NC govt isn't willing to change that requirement or allow the schools to end up in separate P2 conferences, then the Big Ten may not be willing to add NC State, who I believe is currently not an AAU member, in order to add UNC. It may come down to how badly does either conference want to add UNC. It may even offer insight as to why Greg thinks the SEC will add 4 schools in the future. Assuming the 4 schools include some sort of combination of UNC/NC State package because that would be 2 schools right there.

Have an “all or nothing” mentality. As time goes by it is becoming clear to me that all of the lower tier P2 teams are become frustrated with losing. Look at schools like Rutgers and Maryland who, in spite of the paycheck, are running themselves into the ground financially. Fans want to win. You can win in the ACC. That should not be dismissed.

Well, I wouldn't if I were them. But I'm not them. However, I will say this, I do see the B10 presidents taking a big scoop on their own even without UNC. It would be Miami, GT, Duke, and UVa. That would leave UNC and the football schools (VT, FSU and Clemson) to the SEC. Not agreeing with it, or even predicting it, but I think the B1G isn't looking for more football competition. Feeling unc will tag Duke with them . Wherever they go. Unc has their pick . Big or SEC . Imho Duke is following unc. That bball rivalry seals that . I think UVA goes with them. Gt and Miami also . It will be BIG. VT, State , Clemson and FSU elsewhere. SEC I suppose

1. It would open up a path for VT to the SEC. And I'm telling you. realistically, the SEC is the only P2 option for VT. People on this board like the B10 for some reason, but the feeling isn't reciprocal lol. 2. Even if VT doesn't get any invite, losing UVa isn't going to be a fatal blow to the ACC. So far, the B10 has only invited AAU schools and that would limit their choices (FSU, Clemson, and VT are out. again, VT has zero chance with the B1G in my view).
