It's a good thing that the ink is dry on the Franklin hire. The new
reality of realignment, big media dollars, the transfer portal, and players getting paid has set the coaching carousal thing on fire. The Blue Bloods are trading coaches which filters down all the way to the FCS. It's off the charts ridiculous in my opinion. Where this lands is anyone's guess, but what a fricken mess college football is turning into.

When you put all of the Blue Bloods in 1 or 2 Conferences,
There will be blue bloods with losses. And then coach firings. These coaches should require $100 million buy outs to sign up for a Blue Blood Job.

I have as much use for Finebaum as I do for a dog turd. He's useless.

Why do you actually listen and/or watch that miniature, semi-embalmed
hobbit? He's pure Goebbels-type SEC propaganda mouthpiece!!! p

The headline popped up in my notifications, I pay attention to see where
the SEC and lately the new love affair with ND. I find it fascinating that a year ago the SEC and B1G were acting like brothers, but now they are back to competing and ND has sided with the SEC for now. So right now the SEC and ND are jostling with the ACC, B12 and soon to be G6. I think the B1G has the SEC & ND rattled with a 24 team playoff proposal. I think they hate that idea, they are much more interested in a ~32 team P1, maybe they are all independent too. 🤷‍♂️

Va Tech had 8 straight 10 win seasons , played for NC & lead n the 4th qtr,
and had multiple top 10 seasons. Franklin had a chance for at least one SEC job if he wanted it. He has unbelievable relationships with recruits, players and coaches in the Mid-Atlantic area (see flips from Oklahoma, Wisconsin, several from Penn State and almost Michigan the last day, that could change). Franklin also said that we had by far the best plan of any school he talked to and he talked to a lot of them since he was free to do that without a job. WADR I don't think Virginia Tech got lucky, in fact it was the biggest job market for P4's HC's in probably history. In other words more competition than ever. I think our school especially the committee was ready and he chose the best one period, Franklin's words, not mine. If you are referring to the Michigan job, what a mess that the next coach is going to walk into. There is evidence the lines should have been drawn from the dots months ago. ** Edited by Stech at 12/12/2025, 11:40:21 AM

Ink being dry isn’t that meaningful anymore. Franklin could be flipped….
Money and opportunity. It’s unlikely. But possible.

We're currently paying him a "top 10" salary, so it would take a massive...
...pile of money to buy him today. Maybe in 10 years he'll be worth far north of $12M?
