then the question about paying to get/stay competitive just got kicked up another whole level - from the boosters and athletic departments to the overall university administrations. I wonder what the dynamics of that will be like over time, particularly with schools that are losing money already on their athletics and those that are having trouble getting/retaining quality faculties.

Enforcement will be a joke. This is another reason why relegation and
promotion, EFL style, would be much better. Clubs found cheating can be given a points deductions in the standings in real time that could result in relegation. Works as a great antiseptic for cheating. It would do away with lame, after the fact vacating of wins, titles, awards, etc.

Top TV money goes to the top tier.
So yeah. If you are relegated, you get tier two money, or tier three, tier four, etc.
BTW, in order to get relegation and promotion, I’d grandfather the money for 5 years on a sliding scale just to get the P2 on board and compensate them for winning expansionpalooza. After that, prove it on the field, *****es 😆

have never been in contention for a national championship in football, or have an athletic department that breaks even, let alone makes money. It just got exponentially more difficult for the G5 to survive, let alone compete. Some of the changes are long over due, but having the conferences administering this will doom this supposed win for the athletes.

Wishful thinking on my part. But never the less, the conferences in the P2 are anti-competitive and monopolistic. They need to end. In fact, conferences in general are so FUBAR, I think there are even interests within the P2 that want to do away with them.
