Shane Beamer felt the heat when he was here. Cornell Brown drew some ire. Charley Wiles was catching it late in his career. Seth Greenberg for sure. Ricky Stokes! (although maybe the most warranted of all). Mike Young has taken some licks. If VT didn’t start winning last year, Pry was going to start getting some heat. So, the guys making $$ receive their share. There was pretty well a whole cadre of "In Bud we Trust" meaning it didn't matter very much the talent of the players, somehow Bud could make them into a national level D. Same with CFB for the whole team.

Before the 93 season there were a lot of people clamoring for Beamer's head.
