So here is what Apple offered the pac 12
23 million base per school
30 mil if they got 2.5 million subs
50 mil for 3.7 million subs
For reference nfl sunday ticket has 2 million subscribers
There was an out after year 2 if they didnt get to the 30 mil payout level

Basically, only hardcore NFL fans who live close to the wrong team's city and crazy Fantasy Football league players have Sunday Ticket. I live in NC and hate the Panthers, but I sure do watch several of their games every year.
The fans of a collegiate conference who's games are not really on over the air TV would basically have one place to go. If all games in the ACC were blacked out everywhere, but we could get the entire schedule unlocked for $9.99 a month millions of ACC fans would sign up quick.

Most fans watch because they can, if it were hard or you had to subscribe to something so that you can watch, I think you'd lose more than 1/2 of your viewers.

I'm not counting USC/UCLA since that is the past and the PAC could have still survived without them.

The Alliance was a distraction to freeze everyone into inaction while the B10+2 worked against them behind the scenes.
Without it, the PAC could easily have sought out new teams before USC and UCLA announced they were leaving.
Houston, SMU, BYU, SDSU and everyone from the B12 was available back then. Things might have turned out very differently if the PAC had taken, say OK State, Kansas, Texas Tech and Baylor (or even just two of those), especially if we had helped them by taking WVU at the same time.

and they just sat on their stupid lazy hands.
I remember thinking it would be solid for football and great for bball if the ACC had grabbed these schools at the time:
Kansas
Kansas St
Ok St
WVU
Cincinnati
Maybe SMU or Houston if we wanted a Texas school

all the other schools are in states with small populations and would have just been more mouths to feed (no new $). ESPN isn't breaking the bank for Kansas and WVU.
