Notre Dame
If anyone thinks ND is coming into the ACC as a full member they have been drinking to much today or any day. They think the universe belongs to them and they can decide all the issues. You think Texas is bad and demanding as were the problems in the Big 12, just focus on ND for a few minutes. They should be forced to join a conference, any conference, but the rest of the country bows down to them and they continue to think they are the "Football Gods." I expect them to remain independent playing the weakest teams in the country to make it to the national championship. They have done this for a long, long time.

They recuse from voting on all items "exclusive" to football such as the football aspects of media rights but they have a specific football competition agreement. Thru 2036, ND obligated to join the ACC if it places its football program in a conference. And other than ice hockey and some of football, the ACC owns their sports media rights.
Like all ACC members, ND is subject to withdrawal notification procedures and penalties. Interestingly, ND would be part of any vote to disband the ACC (12 of 15 required as I read it). If ND wants to join the B1G for example, it would go thru the same process as any other current member of the ACC with the same GOR mess that everyone else has...just a fewer football games involved.

They said they wouldn't join another conference until 2036, they said they would be a member of the ACC in all sports except football until 2036, and they said they would play 5 games a season against ACC opponents.
They should be held to their word.

I think I'd rather have the ND buyout money at this point.
They showed their hand, and we know they aren't coming now. I was never a big fan of the deal in the first place.

But making them honor their contract really screws up the whole consolidation plan since they won't be able to join until 2036.
Make Fox pay the ACC if they really want them.

remember the Big East dying days when the BE thought ND would save the day by joining. Deja vu all over again.....

needy and soft landing spots for their desire to remain a football independent. First was the Big East and then the ACC stepped up. Unlikely there are any of those options remaining. The only question now is how hard the Big 10 will push. I doubt ND is even a pipedream to the SEC so the only real question is whether Sankey will give them wiggle room as an independent and whether Warren is willing to tell them that seat in the Big Ten is now.

No regulars on this board think ND is coming to the ACC.
That train left the station a long time ago. The last of the believers gave up their position when ND was involved in the CFP expansion to 12 scheme last summer.

ND to the B1G pretty much takes ND off of ESPN/ABC/Disney family of channels. Now all of ND's games will be under the B1G's family of networks save a random away out of conference game.
