Some ND Oldheimers, don’t respect or care about the ACC, Jim Phillips

that make me think about ND oldtimers. I am in my early 40's, so does that make me a oldtimer?

anticipating his usual ACC rips. He does have a track record of ripping the ACC, when good things are said about it, but that’s not you at all, or Domer most if not all the time.

I wasn't going to reply but then you named me directly.
I am not anti-ACC nor enjoy "ripping" the ACC.
I just never in my life (will be 65 in July) have held any allegiance to an artificial construct called a college sports conference and likely never will.
(I am also a Pittsburgh Steelers and Pirates fan and never had allegiance to things called the AFC and the National League, either)
I lived in Louisiana for 36 years and was always bemused and mystified by the "S-E-C" chants of Kentucky and Mississippi State fans as Alabama and LSU were routinely beating their teams' brains out.
I also don't think that ND football will ever join the ACC nor that it is a good business idea for ND to do so.
I do say that all of the ACC's problems are self inflicted and that ACC fans want ND to sacrifice independence to generate cash to fix the ACC's self inflicted problems.
That last comment is not "ripping". That is simply a fact.
But, have a little fun. We "Oldheimers" don't mind at all.

I do not think it is fixable without inventing a time machine.

step up with NIL. Duke alumni has more money than most of the teams in the SEC combined. They could do what Miami is doing. Also figure out how to better monetize basketball. March Madness keeps all the money with the NCAA and not to the teams
