So how do our ND friends feel about BK leaving & the hire of Freeman?
Does the fact that none of the staff is going to LSU say more about their dislike of BK or their loyalty to N# and Freeman?

If feel like one of the munchkins singing “Ding dong the witch is dead”
Marcus Freeman is a smart, charismatic, genuine man who sees Notre Dame’s unique approach as something to believe in, not obstacles to overcome. There will be learning stumbles but if you can view the greeting by the players you will have no more questions. I hope Coach Pry gives you the same hope and joy we are feeling today!

Freemen does indeed look & act like the opposite of BK.
BK is all about BK. Fuente is a good guy but he just never did fit in. Freeman and Pry seem like they both understand and appreciate the culture of their universities.

Well said.. Hope springs eternal again, in the Bend.

My ND friend here at work is fine with it. Obviously some uncertainty
over Freeman since he doesn't have the experience, but he seems pretty happy. The fact all of these assistants are sticking with Freeman makes him seem pretty darned promising.

It will be interesting to see how B. Kelly is going to build his coaching
staff at LSU, since most of his ND staff is staying put in South Bend. This will make it increasingly difficult to bring a winning staff together "immediately" and will require more time to develop. Will LSU fans be willing to wait two (2) or three (3) years for this to materialize in the tough SEC, at the cost they are paying Kelly ? I have my doubts, but time will tell !

Much like R.Kelly, Brian will piss off (on)
the LSU faithful quickly. IMO

I think you guys made a very good hire too
There is the same uncertainty for Virginia Tech in hiring a coordinator as head coach, but I think he is a good one.

It will be interesting to see how the Hokies do with him and Penn State does without him next season.

I think that you guys will like those answers.

I'll be rooting from over here in Grayson County for him to do well next year and beyond.

Freeman was one of the guys I wanted. I think ND is in great shape.

I am
I am very happy with the Marcus Freeman hire.

I credit Kelly with modernizing ND football and building up the program.

I enjoyed the wins and cringed because of some of Kelly's statements and actions.

I knew he was a Boston politician type that never understood ND and was a self centered ass.

But I gave him a bit of a pass for 113-40 after the Davie/Willingham/Weis years.

His legacy is now ruined with the manner of his exit and he is a ghost to me know.

Nobody lasts forever, especially at ND, and after 12 years it seems a refreshing change.

I think that most ND fans feel similarly to this.

I won't bash BK any longer ( I have done that for 12
years already) . I will say for the first time, in 12 years I have pride in our coach.

The BK era is dead. I am happy, content, excited and hopeful for the Marcus Freeman era.

Never been a BK fan either.
Was very surprised he survived the death of the student filming practice.

You and me (and thousands, millions?) of other ND fans and Alumni also
was surprised at the time. I never attacked him on that issue hard, because the parents forgave him and accepted the results of the findings (I deferred to them on this issue). Plus, I didn't want my already strong dislike of him (Kelly) to cloud the seriousness of what occurred. I will say, It could have been avoided, should have been avoided. The winds were very high that day.

Its never good when a ND coach is all about HIM versus the university
That means that the coach never really understood NOTRE DAME. you guys have a good one and appears the staff and team has pulled together.

Yes, everyone got caught up in the wins and forgot about the person
The person of BK needed to be examined. But much of the fan-base just went along because he won. He has done some stuff at ND that he should have been fired for. But he remained and we just kept going. This may or may not work with Mr. Freeman, but I know that I have someone I can look to and say I am cool with him leading us.

I got banned from one of my original boards many years ago because I would not let go of the fact that BK should be gone (I should have stopped to be fair). I believe in forgiveness, but Kelly never sought it or tried to truly change. Today is a GREAT day.

Guess I went against my other post that said I would not bad mouth BK. Whoops.

That makes it hard to hate ND. Kelly made it easy.
Now we only have Nardouschy as a total butt-snatch.
