as a Republican, but he was very bipartisan. He created a lunch with all the Congress Men and Women of Virginia and the Senators that happens every month. It was originally put together to make sure we were united on Defense issues and protect Virginia's interest for Defense. I've talked to people on the Hill from other states, Virginia is considered the Gold Standard for this . However, it is used for other interest too. One of the other big things is taking care of our State Colleges and Universities. Consequently, Virginia and Virginia Tech work together and have for decades. Carla recently took a hit from some Hoos, when she said, Whit speaks for me. The truth of it is, they work things out together and approach it as one team. She didn't feel the need to add because she and Whit had already worked out their position. Believe me, when I say so many great things have come out of this for the state of Virginia, and we should thank our lucky stars...or really John Warner.
