1. It makes the Big Ten look like they are stringing teams along and now hanging them out to dry, with said teams unable to move forward. 2. It puts USC and UCLA at a competitive disadvantage. 3. Overall, it just reeks of elitism at the cost of longstanding tradition, and in the end I think it is bad for college football. 4. I've always thought that conference expansion is often times too myopic. It is too piecemeal and incremental. I think if the ACC wanted Syracuse and Pitt, they should have just taken them in 2003. Maybe even WVU and (gulp) Rutgers. And the Big Ten should be doing the same now. If they are going to blow up the Pac-12, do it right.
