No way its 8. has to be atleast 10.

Also you leave oregon and UW out of that scenario (and potentially stanford and cal). who is to say big 10 doesn't take some of them, ND and maybe unc/uva? and no one is going to add a school unless it guarantees the yearly payout to each member goes up. not sure all those teams do that and not sure these power conferences need/want to get to 24
