Big 12 vs ACC

Lots of good conversation following Phillip's discussion today. I've said it before, there are enough quality brands left in the ACC/BIG 12 for a third power conference to compete with the P2. The ACC has a much deeper set of programs with a better history and success than the BIG 12 with their current lineup. If the ACC loses this fight with the BIG 12 as to who raids who and who gets the third power conference here, it will truly be an underdog story for the BIG 12. Just look at the premier brands (and not just thinking football here): BIG 12: Arizona Utah Arizona State West Virginia Maybe OSU and K State? ACC: UNC FSU Miami Clemson Virginia VT NC State Stanford Cal Add in Duke and Syracuse and it's not hard to see how this shakes out with the right moves and the right leadership on the ACC's part. In a world where it was possible, ACC should dump WF and BC, and pick up the top tier uni's in the BIG12. That set of schools would easily rival the BIG 10 in prestige and in many sports, and would at least be in the mix with the SEC on the football side. I think this is the ACC's fight to lose, especially if the BIG10 and SEC are not interested in any ACC schools. The ACC only comes apart of the BIG10 and SEC come calling.
