Question about what equates to media wants

If you look at enrollment and fan support, VT exceeds UVA in enrollment (thus growing fan base) as well as a general college football fan especially if VT gets back to 9+ win season. However, would media prefer UVA fans because they "think" that UVA fans would look at higher dollar items for ads as compared to VT fans? I would compare it to that TV probably prefers showing golf to 1,000,000 fans as opposed to showing wrestling to 1,000,000 fans. The thought would be golf fans have higher incomes to spend than wrestling fans - which is not always the case. Of course, I know you have pull from certain schools wanting certain teams a well as state governments (and conferences wanting brands). Thus, if UNC doesn't have enough pull to dictate schools, what then would be the draw of UVA over VT (or NC St)? In fact, I believe this could be a big season where VT's narrative could prove to be on the up and up while questions could get into the Clemson program to question what is their overall worth.

I think both SEC and B10 want UNC bad - they are the key for realighnment

I don't think golf advertising and football advertising compare, no matter

With your fanbase, the SEC is a no brainer. **

I think we focus too much on the number of “fans” each school has.

Audience demographics is absolutely a factor

SEC didn’t need to get better at football then added Texas and OU

Everything you just said about UVA is multiplied times 5 or more with Duke.
hokieZ71 07/16/24 10:35 AM ET
Because Duke is private.

Don't forget IU and UConn**

I put UConn in the 7.
hokieZ71 07/16/24 11:12 AM ET
And Dook wouldn't put much additional money into the football program...

Bet that dynamic changes in this environment. **

Doubtful.**

Even UConn is investing in their football program. Duke has
