I think SEC is just waiting for clarity in the ACC situation...

the moment they think the league is collapsing, I think they are going to throw up a wall and invite uva, VT, NCSU, unc, Clemson, GT, FSU and Miami. Duke is the only wild card because they are such a huge brand, but I think SEC will be willing to let Duke go to the highest bidder to stay at 24 universities. They can divide into 3 8 school regions for (non-rev) competition. uva, VT, unc, NCSU, Clemson, USC-e, UK, GT UT, vandy, Mizzou, uga, UF, FSU, Miami, Alabama Auburn, Ole Miss, Miss St, Arkansas, LSU, Texas, aTm, OU for non revs, just play your 7 and whatever else schedule allows before conf tournament for MBB/WBB, play 23 conf games (everyone once) then play a 24 team conf tournament with 8 byes. for football, just have a 24 team league, play 2 protected games each and rotate the other 21 teams through every 3 years (7 teams per year). play 3 non conf games. Top 2 teams based on the 9 game conf results play for conference championship. B1G response would be to complete their western expansion with Stanford, Cal, Colorado, and Kansas, then they will take Duke and Syracuse to get to 24. we'll have 48 schools coast to cost in 2 leagues with the Big12 surviving as the 3rd league with it's remaining members + SMU, L'ville, Pitt, BC (maybe a few others?) Wake will join the Sunbelt. ND will go full circle, rejoin BE for non football and remain independent. I can't wait to see how wrong all of this is.

This feels like a chess game between SEC and BIG. Lots of potential moves
HokieAl 05/09/24 05:13 PM ET
That would be great, but I think the B1G is waiting not ESPN, ESPN knows
Stech 05/09/24 01:27 PM ET
The ACC is not losing that many members, no matter what happens with FSU
33laszlo99 05/09/24 03:08 PM ET
GT isn't going anywhere IMHO. They will stay in the ACC.**
Big12 guy 05/09/24 03:20 PM ET
Yeah, most likely.**
33laszlo99 05/09/24 04:45 PM ET
Both going to 24. 48 make the P2
MrFantastic! 05/09/24 01:16 PM ET
Is ND going to the Big 10 anytime soon?
Sunsetunderground 05/09/24 02:23 PM ET
ND is going to stay independent
TerryD 05/10/24 01:03 PM ET
The B1G stood at eleven members for 21 years. 23, 26, 29.. don't matter.**
33laszlo99 05/09/24 03:14 PM ET
Maybe someday, but not this go around. **
Big12 guy 05/09/24 01:47 PM ET
Maybe. When is this go around?
MrFantastic! 05/09/24 02:09 PM ET
I disagree. The contracts of the P2 are set. The next contract
Big12 guy 05/09/24 02:29 PM ET
As long as you view them as P2 there is little reason to keep growing.
33laszlo99 05/09/24 04:55 PM ET
What FBS football........
2hhoop3 05/09/24 05:02 PM ET
Only 42 DIV I programs in the PST and MST time zones. Fox dominates the ad
33laszlo99 05/09/24 08:17 PM ET
So not many......
2hhoop3 05/09/24 08:25 PM ET
The situation with The PAC 2 could make a bigger gap. The PAC will be G5.
33laszlo99 05/09/24 08:47 PM ET
G-5 is G-5........
2hhoop3 05/09/24 08:56 PM ET
The PAC 2 are included as G5. NCAA has said they will not be "Autonomous."
33laszlo99 05/10/24 10:49 AM ET
I think the thing you miss(We all may)
MrFantastic! 05/09/24 03:53 PM ET
Ya, none of us knows at this point, but if it's about the money
Big12 guy 05/09/24 04:06 PM ET
What does Georgia Tech add to the SEC?
Sunsetunderground 05/09/24 12:20 PM ET
also they left the SEC, and spat at the SEC
DMV Gobbler 05/09/24 01:01 PM ET

MrFantastic! 05/09/24 12:21 PM ET
I don’t believe the odds are great that the SEC is going to add 8 new
WBGV 05/09/24 11:22 AM ET
I don't think any major land grant university w/a rabid fan base

I'm not sure why people leave Arizona and Arizona State out of the
Maroon Baboon 05/09/24 11:15 AM ET
I think March Madness gets reallocated. I'd think Arizona, Kansas and Duke
TDVick 05/09/24 12:52 PM ET
SEC takes pride in being Southern
Sunsetunderground 05/09/24 12:16 PM ET
The Outlaw Josey Wales was from Missouri, so they have that going for them.
EDGEMAN 05/09/24 02:03 PM ET
Mizzou got in when Tech declined SEC**
vtfaninnc 05/10/24 11:31 AM ET

TDVick 05/09/24 09:25 PM ET
Yep, there would be a border war. **
Big12 guy 05/09/24 02:40 PM ET
AZ gives them a new time zone and big market, OK State doesn't.
Maroon Baboon 05/09/24 01:16 PM ET
They would also take pride as being the conference that gets the
Big12 guy 05/09/24 12:27 PM ET

Millpoint 05/09/24 10:28 AM ET
I've thought for a while Kansas to SEC
HOO86 05/09/24 08:37 PM ET
Would be nice, join the SEC but keep the important regional ACC games.
wwhokie1 05/09/24 10:17 AM ET
If revenue shairing it may not matter.**
MrFantastic! 05/09/24 10:18 AM ET
If it reduces the revenue other SEC schools receive, it matters.**
wwhokie1 05/09/24 10:23 AM ET
Unless they take the money they were sharing with the ACC, and add it...
EDGEMAN 05/09/24 11:35 AM ET
What imeant
MrFantastic! 05/09/24 10:58 AM ET
well, all that is needed is for the SEC to make those 8 offers
VTCALS72 05/09/24 08:16 AM ET
I've thought the B10 should take those 8 as a group for a while now.
Truthahn 05/09/24 12:31 PM ET
Just another reason our football needs to kick butt this season!
EDGEMAN 05/09/24 05:18 AM ET
Sankey is Hard to Read
WarHog38 05/09/24 12:56 AM ET
It aint like he has absolute power
Vippie1 05/09/24 09:52 AM ET
The catalyst will be to get a media contract that is more
Big12 guy 05/09/24 12:23 PM ET
It Would Be Hammered Out by All the SEC Presidents
WarHog38 05/09/24 10:44 AM ET
