Crazy idea, but...

sometimes crazy happens. Those that know the number$ can shoot this down but what if ESPN ended up winning ND’s rights from 2026-2031 or 2036. They are willing to give them close to the $75M / year for home games, as long as they air it on the ACCN. They also stipulate that a 6th ACC game be scheduled. Home games don’t gain them a share from the TV money distribution to the other 14 schools, but away games would. With increased ad sales, I wonder how much of a bump that would add to the annual payout per school, and enough to keep ND engaged with the ACC. Add in a 9th ACC game, WVU coming in, I think it could get higher ratings and ad sales than the current format with the schedule and the ACCN. At least firmly plant the flag as the 3rd highest revenue generating conference. That said, I don’t know how to address ND’s travel headache comments from their AD other than to add two or more schools near major airports and break up non-rev sports into regional pods.
