Several years in terms of making us attractive in the event of the ACC dissolving? If we can get back to becoming competitive for the ACC of the next 3 to 4 years, and somehow, although I doubt it, find a way to become a player with NIL, How much does that improve our chances of ending up in a super conference.? My pet peeve is that I just can’t see Virginia Tech ever having the money to pay players the way Texas schools, SEC schools, Miami or other schools are willing to pay. I believe I saw somewhere that Alabama paid their players $3 million last year and Texas Tech is guaranteeing each of their hundred players 25,000 each? Miami is apparently getting ready to line their recruits pockets as well. Do we stand a chance with our alumni base? What’s the best we could ever hope for at Virginia Tech? Paying players $1000 a year? Four star recruits more than that? I have no clue at all. It is really disillusioning. But I’m not sure how many ACC schools I can see doing that either.
