Yes, that is true back then. However, my post is also factoring in why the

NFL has opted to continue down this same path today. Instead of allowing teams to negotiate their own TV contracts (aka regional contracts). The NFL doesn't have enough content justify having national media contract(s) and each team having their own regional contracts too. Hence why the other major pro leagues have not taken advantage of the antitrust exemption like NFL does now.
