I will say it again the Big 12 was propped up by ESPN and FOX because they and their commissioner were useful tools to an end to get them the schools they desired. Now let's get to your perfect timeline understanding, semantics not withstanding. The OU/UT departure leaked summer of 2021. Bowlsby's letter followed in July 2021. Their departure was complicated by the leak and the departure date and negotiating plans fouled up with the leak. USC announced June 2022, 1 day I think before Yormark was introduced as the new commission. The talks with the B1G reportedly began late winter/early spring 2022. The reality is FOX/Warren likely made the move far sooner, perhaps while they were on the ZOOM conference with Kliavkoff and Phillips.;-) Yormark's quote, that you claim was out of context was part of his introduction and your claim it was the PAC 12 schools reaching out first is not wholly accurate.. The PAC 12 $50MM demand was rejected prior to the USC intent to leave announcement. Yormark slid into the negotiating queue in August 2022 and the deal was "reported" October 2022. I believe I have not only backed up my slobbering Yormark comment but, my propping up the Big 12 comment and provided the timeline for how it came together.
