The most interesting thing I am curious to see is the impact the settlement
will have on DI-FCS, DII, DIII, NAIA DI, and NAIA DII. The reason is because the ESPN Family of Networks (including WatchESPN) broadcasts regular season games for those levels. If they are immune to the settlement, then will we see DI-FBS schools opt to move to those levels to avoid how much they have to pay their athletics? If so, then what could that mean for future broadcasting contracts? Schools may have to be forced to give up the amount of exposure they get now in order to avoid paying the athletes. Likewise, Congress could opt to expand the enforcement of the settlement to all levels to eliminate that potential loophole for the schools.
