Different time, and different circumstances. many here are worried that the

ACC will be left behind. Imagine if your team was in the MAC or C-USA. There is a lot more things that are important at stake for these schools than the media dollars. Being in Division one football (FBS) is extremely important in recruiting students )not athletes), and even more importantly, academic donations. It's why the MAC exists, and it's always been that way. They never thought they would win a national championship in football, so why do it? If those schools (and a lot of others), can not compete at the highest level, more will be lost for those institutions then football.
