I do think there will be a "crisis" situation involving the ACC sometime-
between 2029-2031. The current marriage isn't working.
I honestly think, if nothing else, you're going to see the big brands taking a major gamble and do their own thing in an effort to get more money for themselves at the expense of penny ante programs like Wake Forest and Boston College, while disassociating from programs like Cal, Stanford, and SMU that they never wanted to associate with in the first place.
I think this because it doesn't take many brain cells to figure out that when ESPN offers the ACC x amount of money for their media rights, that they're not paying that amount because they want to broadcast the Wake Forest, or Boston College, or SMU football programs. They're paying for the brands.
