Maybe I'm not being clear, so let me try and make explicit what I'm saying-

The ACC WITHOUT FSU, Clemson, and whichever other members also leave in their exodus (a 100% certainty,) will have SIGNIFICANTLY less media rights value than the Big 12 does RIGHT NOW, much less if the Big 12 poaches any of those ACC members, forcing the ACC to backfill with more G5 programs. When the next move happens, the ACC is completely, 100%, without a doubt, cooked as anything resembling a "power." The ACC is on borrowed time, and Jim Phillips and the dead weight know it, because they just added SMU. Do you think they would have added a beggar like SMU unless they knew the ACC was on death's door? I'm not sure what is so hard to understand about the above concept. I'm also not sure what is so hard to understand about this concept: the only thing that really matters when it comes to the current round of college ATHLETICS conference realignment is FOOTBALL BRAND. Academic snobbery doesn't matter. The AAU doesn't matter. Olympic sports don't matter. Endowments don't matter. That's all made up crap that clueless pencil necks push for engagement bait. If it wasn't made up crap, Stanford would be in the Big 10 right now. Do some individual school presidents care about those things? Sure. But that's not what's moving the needle. Football brand, value, and cash on the barrelhead are the only things moving the needle. Do you think one or two snob presidents with their panties in a twirl about US News rankings or the AAU will be able to vote down an expansion candidate if they bring more money to the table for everyone else? No. If you believe otherwise, your belief is direct opposition to reality.
