You are entitled to your opinion too, but for both it’s just opinion not
fact. I was getting the feeling that you think this is all stuck in one direction, and can’t change. I think a year ago when the SEC and B1G snatched the College Football Playoff from everyone else by saying we will do our own if you don’t give us majority control, it looked like it was going in that direction.
Now though ESPN/SEC and Fox/B1G are back to fighting again. I think ESPN/SEC want a P1 with Promotion and Relegation. Sankey recently said he read the book on it and thinks that’s the best direction for College Football. On the other hand the B1G is promoting the opposite direction with a 24 team playoff. They are starting to back down on Automatic Bids to get it too. Why is this important to Virginia Tech and Virginia?
Because it suddenly is about getting as many teams in the College Football Playoff as you can to get the most money. So having a rich state like Virginia that is in the top tier in size, wealth and academic standings, could mean two from one state. Virginia Tech will bring rabid football fans with Franklin and Virginia will do the same for basketball. It seems to be forgotten, but the best ratings are backyard rivalries. So I am not saying it will happen, but a lot has changed in the last year, and with the SEC/ESPN and B1G pulling in different directions right now, I would say both to one conference is possible. The Final Four is usually a time watch, things like UVA more interested in the B1G could easily be the beginning of some paradigm shifts.
PS I have spent a career doing things people said were not realistic. I think realism is all in how high you build your ceiling. Think Big and Grow Rich book has many examples of that.

UVA to B10 is a ten times better fit than SEC,Va Tech is closer to AAU

Not far-fetched, Stech. VT is definitely "qualified" for either P2.

Nah. I’m a proud VT grad, but most who’ve lived outside VA/DMV would agree.
