Why should they share the tournament money with schools that will

not share the football/playoff money? While it's a simplistic comparison, the NCAA could have their own football championship. In the old days, the NIT (private) was the premiere basketball tournament. Today, the football playoffs (private) is the premiere football "tournament". As fast as things are changing, the more I see it coming back around to "student" athletics. One can't put the lid back on the jar of athletes being paid what they are worth to the institutions paying them. I don't think that will change. Education, credit hours, and degrees is what I think could settle this wild west show. Let the athletes make their money, and transfer as much as they want. What the NCAA needs to do, it apply transferable credit hours to the portal, and require athletes to have enough credit hours to keep on playing. The trade off could be eliminating the eligibility rules from "years" to credit hours, and maybe give a 6 year window to achieve their 4 year degree.
