According to VT's website, VT has multiple campus located in Northern

Virginia. Also, if you look at where the largest percentage of VT alumni are located within VA, then the topic 3 historically have been in this order: 1. NOVA 2. 757 3. Roanoke/NRV When a person talks about VT's footprint, it isn't unreasonable for someone to conclude that it is the entire Commonwealth of Virginia. Heck you probably could even say that VT views it that way because of the decisions on what information to include on that webpage. When people talk about the importance of NOVA, it isn't uncommon to use it interchangeably with DMV because NOVA obviously makes up the "V." Given the DMV's unique relationship, it is possible that VT has a strong presence in the "D" and "M" too. Now that presence may not come in the form of a physical campus in those locations, but the impact the close proximity the NOVA campuses have on DC and MD. In addition to the large percentage of alumni living and/or working within the DMV. Whereas, with WVU it is likely more about having a large percentage of alumni living and/or working within the DMV. However, WVU is about 4 hours away from DC. It is possible the school has a certain level of influence within the DMV because of the relationships the school has built over the years and/or the benefits the school has received because of the work influential politicians (i.e. Senator Robert Byrd, Senator Joe Manchin, etc.) have done while in office. I know Manchin graduated from WVU and I think Byrd may have graduated from Marshall. So a similar argument could be made that WVU's football extends beyond just Morgantown and even the entire state of WV. Given where Morgantown is located within WV, its footprint likely extends into parts of OH, PA, MD, and VA.

Should VT add another annual opponent?

Id like to see VT play some home and homes with some former Pac-12 schools
Maroon Baboon 05/08/25 11:09 PM ET
We already do...

The Arizona home-home series in 2029 and 2030 should be a fun series. I

This is a valid concern. **

Not fair to the VT fans to go there. **

1947Sunbowl 05/09/25 08:36 AM ET
Then don’t go. Watch on TV. Never should have ended the series. **
LHSHokie 05/08/25 08:52 PM ET
Right. What is unfair is that they can't go because of safety concerns. **
Blueboy 05/08/25 09:01 PM ET
Play in DC, but the problem you are talking about was 20 years ago, 3 games
Stech 05/09/25 01:20 AM ET
Insist of proper policing, but it does show that is is a proper rivalry.**

Rotate between WVU, UCF, Cincy every year

WVU is a no brainer to everyone that gets ratings. Do it in DC!! New RFK
Stech 05/08/25 03:03 PM ET
I agree, but I would love to see the budgets for playing there vs home.
Truthahn 05/09/25 10:11 AM ET
We need ratings and exposure in the DMV/RIC/HR, it will return every dime

VT plays MD 26-29. could one or two the games be in DC**

EDGEMAN 05/09/25 10:20 AM ET
Keep the UMd series and add WVU. We need to kill it in DMV, RIC and HR.

im not saying not too, however

Maybe, just maybe, the cuzins have no interest in playing VT. Rest assured,

I would take that, but further for RIC and HR. **
Stech 05/08/25 05:38 PM ET
Baltimore could work, but it might be just a little outside either schools

Why not 1 for 1 with ACC and B12 instead of acting inferior to SEC or B1G?

The ACC and B12 should be pairing up right now.

Except it may not be 2-for-1 or even 3-for-1 for ACC and Big XII schools

It happens. The G5 have been living that reality for
