And I'm sorry you won't get to enjoy what Nola has to offer. But 1) the overwhleming majority of violent crime is restricted to areas you would never see - unless you plan on engaging in the drug trade 2) the murder rate and violent crime in general plummeted 40% in the first half of this year, about twice as steep as the national trend, and 3) these stats about Nola are always misleading because "New Orleans" is technically just the small footprint of Orleans Parish where the crime is most concentrated. Anyone who grew up in Metairie for example will tell you they're from New Orleans because they are, it's just not technically so. Either way I don't really think it's a nice thing to do to dismiss an entire city as a ****hole. But I appreciate that you edited your post. Still wrong though, as Nola is in fact extraordinarily pleasant (though not in this dastardly heat).
