was a young kid, Toledo football turned me on to college football. If you look back to their "69 - "71 seasons, you will find the second longest winning streak in college football history. They make the Citrus Bowl two years in a row, and if you were around back then, Bowl games were very rare. Those teams were not allowed to play the big boys in their bowl games because of the conference tie ins, and the monopoly established by the blue bloods. None of the big boys would even think of scheduling the Rockets. They couldn't even get a BIG, SEC, or any decent independent to accept a bowl game against them. Why do you think that was? Toledo is a 45 minute drive from the Big House, yet have played only one game against Michigan. I was at that game, and know for a fact that Michigan wants to play again - yet they will not agree to a road game, even one played in Detroit. Why do you think that is? same thing with Penn State. I was at the first ND Toledo game a few years back. With 1:43 left in the game, Toledo had the ball and was winning. Just missed that one. My point is, that there has been a monopoly in college football since it began. So now, they have monopolized the money in the playoffs. It's BULL S---! (For Will). Let the spoils go to the winners on the field, and if that is Texas and Ohio State every year? Good for them - but settle it on the field.
