If I recall correctly when folks were posting/talking about

the benefits of being in the SEC (after A&M was invited to join the SEC) a lot of the comments were that football recruiting would likely be significantly better than our area competition. Plus the ticket sales levels would be much better because of the draw of the other SEC school fans that would come - a good example is the number of LSU fans that came to VT for our game with them. It was also speculated that donation levels would probably increase significantly as well.
