Everything is always in negotiation, including the
format, number of teams in the playoffs, seedings, ... etc.
What is not in negotiations, are the payouts for the length of the current contract UNTILL the look in that was negotiated into the current contact.
They could decide to have auto's, got to 32 teams, or wherever they land. The distributions for the conferences are NOT currently being negotiated, but they WILL be in the negotiated look in.
Now of course, I could be wrong - but that is how I understand it. if there is something I'm missing, please tell me, or point me where I can find the info.
