I think we are missing a key date. Remember that there

is a look in for the CF Playoffs for '27 '28. that look in was put in for performance on the field, and any further realignment. if Clemson moves conferences "as an example", the new conference will get the credits from it's past playoff appearances, and national championships. The SEC "as an example" will not vote for a school if it waters down their playoff distributions, so of course, no one is moving now, for the 2026 season. They would have to land in the new conference in 2028 to take advantage of that look in. Pro rata AND playoff money are considerations. It isn't just the media deals. I don't know how the playoff committee determines how the playoff money is distributed, but I assure you, that if teams are added to the SEC or the BIG, it will be a consideration.
