Agreed. The ACC knows that ND is never joining

ND is not at all a factor in what the ACC is planning. Unless the ACC are total idiots and ignoring all the obvious information out there. But let’s assume the new ACC leaders are not totally stupid. As for why no expansion yet, I think the dominos needed to fall in a certain order. First was BIG media deal. Next is ND media deal. Once those pieces are set the ACC can use them as a baseline to discuss expansion scenarios with ESPN. The good news is that the ACC has an existing deal and a dedicated network. So now it becomes a discussion for how to improve things in order to make it more valuable. I could see the ACC expanding any time between now and next summer. But I do think they will act within the next year to go to 16. My money is on WVU and Cincinnati to stay close to current footprint but also get new states.

Why should ACC "move on" from ND?
gman86 08/22/22 10:24 AM ET
The ACC needs to go on the offensive
HokieZig 08/22/22 03:34 PM ET
We have IMO moved on from full ND membership
Truthahn 08/22/22 02:25 PM ET
The ACC just needs to realize ND is not a long term member
EDGEMAN 08/22/22 12:32 PM ET
Agreed. Continue to have ND relationship under current TV deal,
hokiesrule98 08/22/22 04:00 PM ET
They can’t move on unless ND leaves. However expansion wise, move on. Stop

Would you still leave ND's ACC games at 5 with 16 schools?
Victor Tango 08/22/22 11:53 AM ET
I would get WVU in and allow ND a road game there each year.**
MrFantastic! 08/22/22 03:27 PM ET
ND hated the 2000 game there so much....

I thought I remembered a similar experience with Miami

Not happening
TerryD 08/22/22 12:59 PM ET
Because some schools want to keep the dissolution number at 8?
Truthahn 08/22/22 02:18 PM ET
I don’t think unless they leave, it will change, it’s an asset. However,

ND isn't holding the ACC back from expanding

The ACC would be crazy to walk away from ND.**

E$PN would reduce ACC's (and obviously VT's) payout by a bunch if they.
Lakeridgehokie 08/22/22 11:22 AM ET
And $ would go up if we started beating them regularly.

Only when the current bowl contract runs out. Even if the ACC continues
