The money gap is already there.

That gap will only widen. At least the non-Power 2 schools wouldn't have to pay their football players (example $30,000/year). The P-2 would logically have the best talent with paid players. Paying their football players would llikely lessen the money gap between the P-2 and others for all the other sports even though the P-2 would still have an advantage (like they do now). The ACC, Big 12 and G-5 would still have NIL deals and their own football playoff. Maybe Clemson, FSU and Miami leave for pay for play football conferences? Let's be honest, the chances of any other ACC school (not named FSU, Miami or Clemson) or Big 12 school winning the present CFB playoff is extremely low (based on the past 20 years). Virginia Tech would have a realistic chance to win a football national championship even though it would be at the 2nd highest level (between P-2 and FCS). I attended a high school that won five state football champiosnhips at the Class 1 and 2 levels but everyone associated with my school values those championships as much as those value their more prestigious Class 6 championships.
