That's a good question. There has been

no talk of a B12 network, but with Texas gone, something may happen. If the PAC breaks up, and the ACC gets the schools you listed -Colorado, the B12 could very well get the PAC network, and poof, the B12 has a network. All time zones for the B12, and if they are serious about adding basketball only schools and UConn, the value of the conference would most definitely go up. (the basketball media dollars would have to be separated from the football media deal in the next negotiation for basketball only schools to make sense) Youmark has said he likes the North East, and he has said he wants a West Coast presence. If the ACC takes 6 PAC schools (Colorado is a hill I'm willing to die on, they are not jumping over the 12 to go to the ACC), then that look in on your contract becomes very important, and if there is a Texas team added, the ACC network would be in a very good position to bring in money as well.

Would need to take enough teams, and the right teams to make it work.

If there is a merger, the only one that makes sense is...

I'd leave the B1G and SEC out of this.

You are consistent, I'll give you that. **

I don’t think a merger works. Getting 5 PAC schools to form one division

4 Questions that need to be asked when selecting teams and the # of teams.
Maroon Baboon 07/24/23 02:51 PM ET
You take 5, and the B12 takes 5 - it could work. **

Question for you Big 12 Guy.

How does "poof" get the Big 12 a network?**

It doesn't.....

I didn't mean to imply it's a done deal - just speculation. **

I didn't say you implied .....

I agree with that, but the foundation of a network is there

Infrastructure is a plus......

That is all true, but we were talking in the context

I understood the context fine......

The PAC has a network. If the conference fails, and the ACC gets Oregon,

I know we are really dealing in the margins here and getting into minutia.

CSU is on the list of vetted schools. As is SDSU and

Good point. The Pac has value to the ACC by able to charge higher

Yeah. I think it raises more questions than answers. But that's why I am

Yeah, not sure. Maybe Rutgers is a big enough school that the tv partners

Yeah. I think an entire west coast league doesn’t fit todays TV metrics **

Every ACC school takes a pay cut. That's how it works.**

It won’t happen if that’s true, so no need to be concerned about that.**

2 divisions: East and west. Aside from made-for-tv cross-division games

Divisions would be how it would work. The Pac has value to tv for the late

#Pac12AfterDark would need to be between two West Coast teams.
