I would agree.....

that athletics decisions are made primarily and most significantly on athletics. However, academically speaking conference addresses can be more or less beneficial to a school. I think an ACC address was more beneficial to VT than say a Big East, an A-10 or even a Metro location, if for no other reason than general public perception.
