Each of the conferences will expand to its optimum configuration.

It turns out that The B1G has a better position right now, so they are demonized. The SEC (no, actually ESPN) has determined that The SEC will not attain their optimum because it would be financially hurtful to ESPN. If The ACC were available, SEC would devour them. Let's not kid ourselves that The SEC's restraint is altruistic. ESPN is deeply affected by the USC, UCLA move. They need The B1G media rights more than ever. And they will pay through the nose. The SEC will begin to feel the same stricture that is felt by The ACC. They are in a contract with no relief through 2034. Do we feel sorry for them?
