UNC has been .....

parroting that "sleeping giant" line since the 70s or earlier, however, in that 50+ years they've delivered about 2 seasons that might meet that criteria. It is a testament though to their marketing prowess that some actually believe it. It is probably a bigger testimony to the strength of their journalism and comms program that people like Skipper, Kirkpatrick and others reached positions of influence in the industry to where they could effectively advance that myth.
