yes academic ranking is huge. HOwever, the BOV action directed the university to prioritize athletics the same as V advantage, Global Ranking, R&D, Expanding Borders efforts. NOW the messaging for VT is we expect national ranking in academics and its JUST as important that we achieve national rankings in athletics and the univeristy is committed to top funding.
