I wonder if a scheduling arrangement with the SEC is smart for the B10.

They are not going to fare well in the long run against the SEC, IMO. Michigan for example is used to large advantages in scheduling, usually starting the season with three home G5 out-of-conference games. In 2022 they opened with three home games: ECU, UNLV, and Bowling Green. In 2023 it was Colorado State, Hawaii and UConn, also all at home. This year, they still started with three home games, but two G5's and Texas, which was a big loss for them. I would have expected VT to have the same out-of-conference record as Michigan if we had had those games. It turns out playing three G5 teams, at home every year to start your season, is a great way to have success.
