I also don't think SEC, B1G, FOX and ESPN want to see TV Contracts & GORs

torn up by the courts. Bad precedent. There might be a day when Alabama says, "we aren't making enough money in the SEC, we could make more in the B1G." Or maybe the other way around with Ohio State and the SEC. ** Edited by Maroon Baboon at 6/18/2024, 11:06:16 PM

Why is all the talk about the Big12 taking ACC members…,
jjhokie2 06/18/24 04:56 PM ET
If we keep our two playoff slots, why jump to the other conference?
Truthahn 06/20/24 11:43 AM ET
Most realignment talk is a product of either hope or fear. What do you
33laszlo99 06/19/24 08:15 AM ET
Yeah most B12 boosters pronouncement
Vippie1 06/19/24 09:59 AM ET
Why would they? You can make a case for WVU, UCF
VTCALS72 06/19/24 05:22 PM ET
SMU, Cal, Stanford don't make sense for regionality**
HouClone 06/19/24 05:49 PM ET
Neither do Az, AZ ST, Col and Utah
VTCALS72 06/19/24 07:14 PM ET
Yeah, maybe. They will still run into the same issues the Pac had before.
HouClone 06/20/24 03:05 PM ET
That is why the PAC will come back
VTCALS72 06/20/24 08:44 PM ET
Ya, for VT fans, that would be the play. The business people might look at
Big12 guy 06/19/24 10:03 AM ET
I don't think anyone outside of either P2 Conference knows who they want...
EDGEMAN 06/19/24 08:26 AM ET
Because the talk is coming from Big 12 people**
wwhokie1 06/19/24 12:13 AM ET
I have not seen a lot of chatter about Big 12 raiding ACC**
ombandit 06/18/24 06:18 PM ET
Not raiding, no, but picking up teams from the aftermath, yes.
Truthahn 06/19/24 12:50 PM ET
We have a network. They don't.
Maroon Baboon 06/18/24 05:14 PM ET
Maybe the ACCN makes a PAC/ACC merger possible?
Truthahn 06/20/24 10:07 AM ET
I think that is going to be huge going forward.
VTCALS72 06/19/24 06:53 AM ET
Minus FSU, Clemson and UNC it’s definitely not
Millpoint 06/18/24 05:07 PM ET
That's widely believed, but
obguthr 06/19/24 07:09 AM ET
Documented the B12 gave the ACC their GOR, if it’s null, it’s null for both
Stech 06/18/24 09:41 PM ET
The P2 has zero targets in the B12.**
neworleanshoo 06/19/24 10:07 AM ET
Probably right not many, but if basketball expands 🏀 tourney and pays
Stech 06/19/24 10:48 AM ET
If that's the case, I can see WVU and UCF moving to the ACC IOT...
EDGEMAN 06/19/24 07:15 AM ET
That would have worked just 3 years ago, but the ACC did not
Big12 guy 06/19/24 08:11 AM ET
You hit this one out of the ball park
DMV Gobbler 06/19/24 07:07 AM ET
Hate to tell you but........
2hhoop3 06/19/24 12:40 PM ET
I don't think you hated to tell him that... :)**
NokieHokie 06/19/24 01:40 PM ET
I really did.....

Maybe we should call him "MerQury" haha!**
NokieHokie 06/19/24 02:34 PM ET
This is why FSU & Clemson could be doing an SMU, no money but fight GOR.
Stech 06/19/24 09:31 AM ET
I think it was the ACC that copied it, but that doesn't matter,
Big12 guy 06/19/24 07:24 AM ET
Guarantee there are B12 schools who want into the P2.
EDGEMAN 06/19/24 08:29 AM ET
No doubt. No school would not take a P2 invite. **
Big12 guy 06/19/24 08:46 AM ET
I don't agree. The remaining 14 are as strong as the B12 teams
VTCALS72 06/18/24 07:03 PM ET
Me, too. Also, the ACCN and the ND deal give the ACC the edge.
Truthahn 06/20/24 10:38 AM ET
I hadn't gotten around to thinking about the scheduling angle but, you are
VTCALS72 06/20/24 11:55 AM ET
Big12 also lost their top 3 programs in recent years.
LonghornHokie 06/18/24 06:26 PM ET
While the departure of those three.....
2hhoop3 06/18/24 05:49 PM ET
True… and Utah, Colorado, Arizona and ASU gives them more gravitas.**
Hotus 06/18/24 05:42 PM ET
I agree with your first point, but .......
mjfhokie 06/18/24 05:17 PM ET
Big 12 teams are only breaking the GOR to go to the Big 10 or SEC. **
HouClone 06/18/24 06:09 PM ET
Same for ACC teams**
VTCALS72 06/18/24 07:04 PM ET
I also don't think SEC, B1G, FOX and ESPN want to see TV Contracts & GORs
Maroon Baboon 06/18/24 05:33 PM ET
Exactly, breaks the media deals all apart
DMV Gobbler 06/19/24 10:20 AM ET
ACC has passed up B12 teams multiple times
HokieAl 06/18/24 05:02 PM ET
Your first point is just passed over by many, and I don't think many
Big12 guy 06/18/24 06:31 PM ET
Exactly nobody in the ACC or big 12 is fighting their GORs to
VTCALS72 06/18/24 07:07 PM ET
Yes, and is why I think the ACC will be fine if they
Big12 guy 06/18/24 07:36 PM ET
A good time for the Mag 7 and some B12 schools to skim the cream and form
IB4TECH 06/18/24 07:30 PM ET
Except that 10 seconds later FSU would be *****ing to get out of the MAG7.
Truthahn 06/20/24 10:16 AM ET
This is 100% the correct answer to the current crisis-
Baltimore_Hokie 06/19/24 11:56 AM ET
That's what I've been thinking
obguthr 06/19/24 07:23 AM ET
The mag7 can do their own thing if they want - that has nothing
Big12 guy 06/18/24 07:42 PM ET
A conference with 7 members probably isn't enough members to generate
VTHokie2000 06/18/24 10:02 PM ET
