Overnight, $20-$25 million per year in each athletic department will suddenly be going somewhere else (to the athletes, haha). Budget slashing on the level of what we saw during COVID will have to take place at each school. I think that in some ways, the student-athlete experience will get worse, in the areas of academic support, counseling, and maybe even injury treatment and rehabilitation.
