"Kicking schools out" of the conference for lousy football has become a

popular prediction on message boards. I don't see it happening. I also don't think the people who suggest it actually believe it will happen. It is just an easy insult toward the P2 in a way that highlights the greed of those two conferences. And they are greedy, no question about it. But sports, even football, are incidental to the operation of these institutions. There has been discussion lately about Nebraska being expelled from The B1G, but not for football. Rather it is about their lack of progress as a research institution. That's what the school marms really care about.
