With an eight game SEC schedule, that is winning the four OOC games and winning two of the eight SEC games. The OOC's can mostly be gotten by giving them a million dollar check to just come visit the home stadium for a single game. I hear some approach two million these days to come play that single game. The SEC home team then makes a killing pocketing all the gate receipts and concessions. Arkansas got so addicted to those home cupcake visits that the SEC regulated a P5 opponent for one of those OOC's. The P5 opponent is almost always a two game home & home series. Arkansas was not the only cupcake addicted SEC school as old football schedules would bear out. Arkansas' problem has not been a tough SEC schedule. Players toughen up to that schedule. That is the strength of the SEC. The problem for Arkansas has been selecting a head football coach. Bielema laughed about the catfish restaurants in NW Arkansas, declaring he had never before eaten catfish. Bielema had his own TV show, with cute little Jenny, his wife and an X Las Vegas showgirl. Bielema stated on his TV show that all Texans talked slow. Bielema also went down in Texas to speak at a get together of Texas high school football coaches. Where Bielema criticized the no huddle football they were mostly all playing as being highly prone to causing injuries. Bielema shot his Texas recruiting in the head. Chad Morris played loud rap music all during practices and had locker room Dub Club celebrations with loud rap music in the few games the Hog's won. Morris jerked around dancing wildly with his players at Dub Club. He looked like a plus fifty year old idiot. Those are the two coaches Arkansas had to win with the last decade. I don't have a lot of faith in Pittman. He is too old. Petrino had Arkansas ranked in the Top Ten the last three years of his tenure with a N0.3 finish one of those years. Nutt had good teams especially with McFadden, Jones & Helis. Nutt just never had a QB coach that could develop a passing QB. Chad Morris made Arkansas a laughing stock. No head football coach has done that to the Hokies. That laughing stock image made the hiring last go round extremely difficult. They had to settle for Pittman, old and unproven as a head coach. Norvell played college football in Conway, Arkansas. Norvell was following all the Razorback recruits on Twitter before Chad Morris was hired. Norvell would not even return phone calls from Arkansas after Morris was fired in not even two years. Norvell soon left Memphis for FSU. I think the old whales have been too involved in hiring Arkansas coaches. I know Jerry Jones had a lot to do with Morris. They do not want younger energetic coaches.
